This database and the associated guidance document offers support to Scottish local authorities in implementing their commitments in Scotland’s Climate Change Declaration. It provides guidance on selecting the right tools for the right jobs, recognising that there are a number of climate change tools available for use by local authorities.

The research project that developed the database was supported by The Scottish Government and project managed by SNIFFER. The research team was led by CAG Consultants and involved MWH and SISTech. For more information on the research methodology and findings you can access the final research report here: Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership

Project Overview
Helen Chalmers from CAG Consultants explains the research approach, the database and the research recommendations at the SSN Conference 2007:

 Dr Helen Chalmers Presentation

The SSN would like to develop the database and guidance document before both are made publicly available. We are particularly keen to get comments from local authority users and tool providers, in order to improve the accuracy of the information contained in the database and guidance document, and also to improve the presentation of the information.

User and Provider Feedback
Please email constructive feedback on the database and guidance to George Tarvit or call 01786 433081.

We hope to make the database and guidance publicly available in January 2008.
