All presentations and audio recordings from the SSN Annual Conference (8-9th November 2007) are now online - follow the 'speakers' page on the menu, above.

SSN has collaborated with Tartan Media Productions to create an online feed which gets under the skin of the conference: Go to the SSN Conference Feed. The feed captures interviews with speakers as well as conference participants' views on the local government response to climate change.

Moving from ‘the what’ to ‘the how’

The SSN annual conference is one of the most well-respected sustainable development conferences in Scotland. The conference brings together over 200 delegates from local government, public agencies, NGOs and academia to stimulate improved and coordinated responses that direct local government toward sustainable development outcomes.

By signing Scotland’s Climate Change Declaration, all of Scotland’s local authorities have recognised the importance of climate change and their responsibility to act. ‘Local Government and Climate Change: Your How to Guide’ will showcase national and international experience, give an insight to the forthcoming Scottish Climate Change Bill, and provide sound advice on local policy and practice.

The conference forms part of SSN’s on-going climate change programme, designed to support local authority efforts to reduce carbon footprints and adapt to change. It is a unique event for all those interested in, and responsible for, improving local governmment’s response to climate change.

Who’s it for?
