SSN's Priority Themes
While SSN is, at heart, a network within which local authority officers can share knowledge and experience, we have four national programme priorities:
 | Best Value Supporting local authorities to deliver the Duty of Sustainable Development within the Best Value regime. |
 | Climate Change Supporting local authorities to deliver on the commitments made through Scotland's Climate Change Declaration and informing implementation of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act and related national policies. |
 | Local Footprints Providing a support programme for local authorities on ecological and carbon footprinting. |
 | Procurement for Sustainability Supporting local authorities to procure responsibly and in a way that delivers community well being, minimises resource use and prevents environmental degradation. |
All four programme priorities are developing with an emphasis on their interrelationships, securing multiplier effects and mutual reinforcement.
